www.luondu.no
Ceavccageađge/Mortensnes Cultural Site Area is one of the richest and most distinctive areas for ancient monuments in Scandinavia. This place is particularly distinguished for the considerable length of time it has been inhabited and used, and the large number and variety of ancient monuments. The monuments can be roughly divided into two main types: settlements and remains of religious practices. In Sami this site is named after one of the sacrificial sites: Ceavccageađge. In English the name of the stone will be "Fish Oil Stone" (stone where fish oil was offered).
Visitors can walk along a cultural trail/path with information signs telling about the cultural remains.
See www.luondu.no for more information about the cultural heritage site and the prehistoriy of the area. See www.saivu.com for information about Sami faith and mythology.
